RESIDENT BIRDS
This is an option if you do not want to see your bird adopted,
but can no longer care for it at their house. You must pay a monthly
stipend for food and medical expenses, between
$25 to $50.00 depending on the size of the bird, and
sign a contract that states that if you miss more than
3 months of payments, we can put the bird on our adoption
roles, should we decide to do so.

Resident program is not for people going on vacations. It is for people who have
to give up ther bird for a long period of time, but do not want it adopted
out to a new family or who plan on reclaiming it at a later date.

STEP ONE: Download and complete the application form then fax it to: 815-384-3190 or mail/bring it to A Place to Call Home, 114 N.Main Street, Creston Il 60113.

STEP TWO: Once we recieve the application, it goes to our board of directors for approval. If we feel that you need more information/education on owning a parrot, we will require classes be taken prior to approval.

STEP THREE: Once approved, you will be allowed to chose a bird and then be required to make 3 visits to bond with your chosen bird.

STEP FOUR: A home visit must be conducted prior to the bird leaving the rescue.

NO EXCEPTIONS! ALL STEPS MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE ORDER THAT IS LISTED, SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
