Volunteers Wanted!!!!!

Ollie's is looking for reliable volunteers in the Dekalb area who would like to learn about the care and training of parrots in a hands-on environment. No experience necessary, but you shouldn't be intimidated by beaks! The position is for one or two days a week, during the daytime hours. Cleaning cages, preparing and feeding the birds, giving showers, exercise and love are what's involved. Interested? Call Sandi at 815-384-3170.

Meet the Flock!

Meet Skye, the largest of our flock. She came to us as a rescue and although she had been hand-raised, she was ignored and neglected by her former owner causing her to become anti-social and nippy.  Her favorite phrase was, "Ow, ow, ow......BAD BIRD!"  But now she is becoming quite a sweetheart and loves to make kissing sounds.  She's a bit shy in public, but makes the rounds with us as part of our programs.

This Tanga and her "significant other", Gizmo.  They sure make a cute couple! Tanga is a jenday conure and Gizmo a blue crowned conure. They were given to us by Michelle Karras. Tanga is very devoted to Gizmo and she is a sweet, little bird.  Gizzie is the talker of the two and has an evil sounding laugh! The kids at our school programs love them.

This is P.J.  Can you tell he's a 'Too?  He's just 4 years old, but such a cutie!  After spending his first years in a box with very little interaction, he thinks he's in heaven and we think he's an angel!

TOO NEW FOR PHOTOS!!! We have added 2 more feathered cuties to the flock; Mattie, a 9 month old blue and gold Macaw and Cherry (formerly Lucy), a female Eclectus.
