Boarding - Home-Away-From-Home
Boarding facilities at Ollie's Parrot's Perch are clean and comfortable. Our full-spectrum lighting simulates the normal photoperiod (daylight) that parrots would experience in the wild. We have an activity area with ropes and swings, a variety of perches and "trees" and a bird bath for plenty of exercise and fun. We feature daily exercising and misting for our guests as well as out-of-the cage time and personalized one-on-one attention. There is also "mood" music and even cartoon time on our color TV! Stop by and visit our facility! We'd love to meet you and show you around.
Prior to Boarding...All birds MUST have proof of an avian veterinary work up/physical with blood work within the past year. This is to assure the health of all birds in our facility... including yours. This includes Polyoma, Psittacosis and Beak and Feather testing. Please be aware that no matter how much we try to simulate a home environment, boarding for your bird can be stressful. Any underlying issues such as feather destruction, phobias, anxiety and even older birds can become stressed and these issues can become magnified. In extreme cases, cardiac failure and death can occur, so please discuss this with your veterinarian prior to boarding your bird!

All about Parrots
Learn about how these beautiful jewels of the rainforest live in the wild and why their numbers are diminishing. I bring my birds and discuss the status of each of their species as well as answer questions.(Approx. 30 minutes to 1 hour) For older children and adults.
Meet the Flock
Sandi and her feathered friends, P.J. (the Cockatoo), Skye (the macaw), cute little Tanga and Gizmo (the conures), and Cherry (the eclectus) to this 45 minute program about parrots of the wild. Sandi reads "The Parrots and Papa Bois" by Lynette Comissiong, a Caribbean folktale about how the parrots learned to talk, and introduces Ollie and his friends to the audience. She discusses interesting facts about each of their species and how they would live in the wild. A fun and fast paced program that easily fits into classroom rainforest units. Program can be adjusted to be age appropriate. Small or medium sized groups, please.
