Mike & Krissy

Hi! We are NIU students who want to help make the world a better place for humans and animals. We stumbled across Ollie's Parrots Perch while searching for animal shelters near the DeKalb area to volunteer at. Before then, we never imagined we'd be working with exotic birds, but we gave it a try in late October of 2008 and have been happy working with Sandi ever since.

Volunteers Wanted!!!!!

Ollie's is looking for reliable volunteers in the Dekalb area who would like to learn about the care and training of parrots in a hands-on environment. No experience necessary, but you shouldn't be intimidated by beaks! The position is for one or two days a week, during the daytime hours. Cleaning cages, preparing and feeding the birds, giving showers, exercise and love are what's involved. Interested? Call Sandi at 815-384-3170.
