Classes/Lectures
$25.00 per person as a private class

Cooking and Gardening for Your Bird $100.00
Lecture Approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Adult level
We will discuss types of plants to grow in your garden for use in feeding and preparing
Birdie recipes, sprouting for your bird and recipes for you to use at home.
“Parroting” 101 $150.00
Class Approximately 1 hour to 90 minutes. Adult level
We go over the basics in parrot care to include nutrition, training, husbandry, veterinary care, hazards, importance of toys, exercise, behavior issues, cages and play areas, and interaction. Great class for the new parrot owner!
So You Want a Parrot? $100.00
Class Approximately 1 hour. Adult level
This class is a first step for anyone interested in owning a parrot. We will go over the differences in the parrot species, their personalities, their energy and noise level, the level of commitment needed to own a parrot.
Toy Workshop $150.00
Hands on class Approximately 1 hour to 90 minutes Can be geared to any age
This is a workshop on how to make inexpensive toys for your bird. We go over what is safe to use in toy making, the different types of toys and why they are important.
We will watch a video on the Importance of Toys by Michelle Karras, an avian behaviorist, and then we will make one or two simple toys for you to take home or donate back to our rescue birds. We bring supplies for making the toys.
Parrot Art $100.00
Hands on Activity Approximately 30 minutes to 45 minutes Kid level
Craft class/ activity for kids. We will make 3 parrot projects: A parrot to “wear”/perch on your arm, A rainforest mural and a parrot photo button. We bring one or two of our program birds to interact with the kids as well. We supply all needed to create these projects.
Interactive Lectures with our Birds
We bring 4 to 6 of our programs birds to help us with these programs.
Meet the Flock $100.00
A 30 minute program where we introduce our program birds to the audience and talk about each one. Audience members can interact with some of the birds. This is a great program for private birthday parties. Add a parrot craft for another $50.00. All ages.
What Makes a Parrot a Parrot? $150.00
A 45 minute program that discusses how parrots are different from the birds in your backyard. We discuss and show those differences using our program birds. Audience participates in the discussion. All ages.
Parrot Trivia $150.00
A 1 hour game/discussion program where audience members read Trivia questions and “vote” on whether they are true or false. We use our program birds to show why the questions are true or false. Very informational and can be geared to age of audience.
Rainforest Birds $150.00
A 45 minute program that introduces the audience to the rainforest birds, discusses why they are endangered and gives information about the importance of the rainforest to everyone. All ages.
Programs for the very young
Storytime with Coral $100.00
This is a 30 minute program where Coral, our moluccan cockatoo joins us as we read the story, “Papa Bois and the Parrots”, a Carribean folktale that tells how parrots got their voice. Children are able to pet and hold Coral at the end of the story and even bring home a souvenier feather that belonged to her. Preschool and elementary.
Meet and Greet $75.00
A 30 minute interactive “meet and greet” with Coral and Beaker. Informal, all ages.
Parrot Coloring Pages $75.00
Geared for preschoolers, this craft activity is simple coloring sheets and we bring Coral with us to help! We provide the color sheets and crayons.
